I like creating new products, services and businesses. I built most of my projects as a solo developer (acting as a product manager, designer, programmer and a server administrator) because it was the fastest way to ship products, start getting feedback and quickly iterating over and over again.
I also have a lot of business experience and financial reporting skills as a co-founder of three different companies and four community-driven projects.
Here are a few projects that I’ve built recently:
Rodnik.today
Rodnik.today — public water sources for outdoor enthusiasts. I see it as a social layer on top of OpenStreetMap database, where people can discuss and verify existing data about water sources (springs, water wells, water taps and other), share photos and comments, and then this data is used to update the OpenStreetMap database itself, thus improving the human knowledge about our planet.
Is it a very nice tool to plan trips and explore water sources, very important for multi-day trekking, but also useful for long days outdoors or finding a nearest water tap with drinking water on a hot day in dry climate.
Here is a map of Barcelona, yellow-red circles indicate water sources verified with a report by our users.
This is a non-commercial project that I created in my free time, without any outside investment. From the beginning I was working with my partner, because we are both very interested in long trips, social geo-mapping and creating communities around that.
I have also started building a community of like-minded people. This project is not yet publicly announced, but we already have a lot of user feedback required for further improvement.
Tri.work
Tri.work is a business process management system, created specifically for working with `self-emloyed individuals` individuals — a newly created taxation scheme, which is going to be used by about 20 millions people, including foreign workers.
Despite being very simple, that taxation scheme requires several time-consuming bureaucratical procedures. [Tri.work](http://Tri.work) organizes everything in one place, generates contracts, orders, acts and other documents, allows to digitally sign all documents, simplifies and controls payments.
Tri.work also simplifies financial reporting since it already contains all data related to working to self-employed individuals.
Vesta.tax
Vesta.tax is an accounting service for sole proprietors. It has been created for the clients of Vesta Bank. All-in-one tool processes all transactions across all accounts, parses the data automatically, allows for any manual editing, calculates all the necessary payments.
Besides that, [Vesta.tax](http://Vesta.tax) issues digital signatures, generates tax declarations, digitally signs the documents and acts as an intermediary between the client and the tax authorities.
In general, this single service solves all problems related to taxation. Online and without leaving the office.
Staff.tochka.com
Staff.tochka.com is a simple accounting service, created for the clients of Tochka Bank.
There is a special area of accounting called `Employees accounting` in Russia, which is usually very confusing and time-consuming. This service streamlines the process for simple cases with small companies and not many employees, allowing the business owners to do accounting themselves, without hiring an accountant.
Sneg.today
Sneg.today is a service for cross-country skiers in Moscow area (Russia). I have created it in just one week in 2017, the reception of the skiing community was very warm and the project has become a very popular, universally-known project.
The basic idea is very simple: skiers upload photos and their comments about the skiing track quality just before or right after their training. In Moscow it usually takes a long time to drive to a skiing track, so other skiers check the condition and decide where to go or whether to go on not on that particular day.
Snow conditions around Moscow are unreliable, and tracks aren’t regularly prepared, so that information is very vital.
Other work projects
2012—2017 — I was a CEO of a triathlon coaching company called David Warden Coaching (dwcoaching.ru). In 2017 my wife became the CEO of the company, it has been profitable for many years in a row.
In 2020—2021 I was a partner in two businesses: Trimaster LLC and Triwork LLC. Trimaster is a construction company that specializes in plaster finishing and works only with self-employed individuals (a new tax scheme in Russia), and Triwork is a SaaS that supports business processes for Trimaster LLC, and me and my partners decided to make it an independent business.
In all these companies I was responsible for everything related to IT and financial reports.
